The master iconographer Nicusor Dumitru started to show an interest for art since he was only 6 years old. From that moment on his path in life was settled. At 10 years he attended “Nicolae Tonitza” Art School from Bucharest, where he learned the secrets of painting and sculpting. He graduated as a sculptor in 1995.

Between 1995 and 1999 he has finished the classes of a local University, specializing in International Law.

Still, in 2000 he has returned to his old artistic passion and a new calling of heart: the religious painting. He started to paint Byzantine Icons for Romanian churches. Two years later he applied to the Romanian Orthodox Church Commission for Church Painting, and soon after he was recognized as Master Iconographer. From that moment until today he has written more than 1100 Icons for Churches and private collections around the world.

At the moment he is living in Georgia, USA.
